Full Journal pdf1999-04-27 House Journal Page 1031 HB 201 The following, which was advanced to third reading from the April 26, 1999, calendar (page 1006), was read the third time: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 201(FIN) "An Act relating to the computation of overtime; and providing for an effective date." Representative Rokeberg moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB 201(FIN) be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 1. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Rokeberg: Page 2, lines 16 - 21: Delete "An employee is entitled to overtime for hours worked in excess of 1999-04-27 House Journal Page 1032 HB 201 (1) eight hours a day; or (2) 40 hours a week; the number of hours worked in a week under this paragraph shall be determined without including hours that are worked in excess of eight hours in a day." Insert "An employee is entitled to overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of eight hours a day. An employee is also entitled to overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 hours a week; in determining whether an employee has worked more than 40 hours a week, the number of hours worked shall be determined without including hours that are worked in excess of eight hours in a day because the employee has or will be separately awarded overtime compensation based on those hours." Representative Rokeberg moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The question being: "Shall CSHB 201(FIN) am pass the House?" There being no objection, it was so ordered. CSHB 201(FIN) am was referred to the Chief Clerk for engrossment.
